How often do I need my ducts cleaned?

The average is every five to seven years depending on other factors, including; shedding animals in the home, children in the home, the ability of your filters, and if any recent major work or remodeling has been done to the home.We recommend when moving into a new home, that you clean the ducts of what the previous family left behind, as you cannot be sure of how often they had them cleaned, or how well they took care of their system during their time living at the location.

What does your process look like?

We pull up to your home and greet you at the door. Our team will evaluate your system as we begin unpacking our vacuum tubes from our truck. The team will make sure to cover any corners in the house with foam blocks to prevent the corners of the home from receiving scuffs from any equipment. We will then put up a tarp at the front door if needed to keep the hot or cold air in your home as long as possible whille we do our work.The team will go from vent to vent, cleaning at each individual accessible opening, clean all of the accesible parts of the furnace, and run the supply lines from the furnace as well, ensuring that we hit the duct from both sides to get it as clean as we possibly can. Finally, we also clean your returns, where the air in take of the home is. This is where you would usually filter.Once finished, the team will pack up their equipment back into the truck and collect payment for the work completed. We offer payment through check, credit card, or online kiosk.

Do you use brushes?

Rather than use a normal physical brush, we use a compressed air line and a high powered vacuum. Every brush is an agitation tool. The air line, also being an agitation tool, makes better contact than regular physical brushes can make.Normal physical brushes are also limited in their abilities to make sharp turns, clean joist space returns, fit through suddenly changing diameter in ducts easily, and are prone to sometimes breaking off in the duct work itself. The tools that we employ are incredibly versatile, and in the Tulsa Metro, it is vital to have this versatility to properly clean the different types of ducts you can find.

What all parts of my system do you clean?

We clean all accessible parts of your home’s system. This includes the following;

The supplies where the air comes out into the home. These are the most common vent found, supplying the house with cold or warm air after it has circulated through your furnace.

How long will it take to clean my ducts?

The time taken depends on the size, set up, and the level of dirt in the duct work. Usually a single system takes roughly two hours, though there is no guarantee. When you call to schedule a cleaning, we will do our best to give an estimate of time, but the time will not be final until the team arrives to clean your ducts and evaluates the before mentioned factors.Regardless, our team will remain as long as it takes to get the job done.

Will this dirty my home in the process?

When the work is properly done, the dirt and debris being loosened in your vents will be sucked out by our high powered vacuum at the opening of the duct.The home is perfectly safe for you and your family to be in while the process takes place, and you don’t need to worry about breathing all the dust in during the job.

Do you use any sort of spray?

We do spray with a sanitizer called BBJ Mold Control into the system. Its purpose it to help fight against mold for up to two years after we service your home. Do you repair or line ducts?

Our company specifically specializes in the cleaning of ducts and dryer vents, though we do offer the additional service of sealing duct work in the attic, walls, and basement. This process is called Aeroseal, which you can learn more about at the bottom of this text box.

When it comes to duct repair and fixing ducts that have come unnattached, we recommend contacting your favorite HVAC company. Call us directly if you would like our recommendations for duct repair.

How often do I need to change my filters?

We recommend a new filter at least every three months. Some variables apply depnding on the type of fliter used and how dirty the home gets on a regular basis.

For one inch filters, no more than any three months. Deep Pleat filters, we recommend every six months to a year. Other variables to note are if the house is located on a dirt road or paved, if there are pets in the home, and how properly the house is sealed.

I just had my home remodeled, do I need my ducts cleaned?

It is our recommendation that the ducts are cleaned after major work to a home has been done, especially the floors. In our experience, carpentry leftovers and tile are prone to end up in floor ducts, and returns often pull in the sawdust and debris from construction that could affect the home’s air quality.

Will this be noisy? Can we be in the home while you work?

You can absolutely stay in your house while we service you. Our vacuum and compressor system is fairly loud, so if there are concerns for waking up small children, or you work from home, we suggest booking around those factors if possible.

Where can I find the furnace in my house?

Typically, furnaces are installed in areas like the basement, attic, or a dedicated utility closet. Depending on your home’s layout, you may find it in one of these common spots. It’s important for the area around the furnace to be unobstructed to maintain airflow and safety.

Are the vents in my home mostly on the floor, walls, or ceiling?

The placement of vents varies based on the design and structure of your home. Floor vents are often used in single-story homes for optimal heat distribution, while wall and ceiling vents are more common in multi-story homes to enhance air circulation on multiple levels. Identifying the placement helps us determine the best approach for cleaning your ductwork efficiently.
